Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s 2nd Annual

Neurodegeneration Targets

Drug Discovery for Progressive Central Nervous System Disorders

September 26-27, 2023

Cambridge Healthtech Institute's 2nd Annual Neurodegeneration Targets conference focuses on therapeutic candidates in clinical or earlier stage development that modulate molecules or cellular processes involved in neurodegenerative diseases, especially Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Neurodegenerative diseases have a dearth of therapeutic options despite the prediction of their increasing US prevalence due to the country’s aging population. Drug discovery progress, however, is intensifying thanks to the rapid pace of scientific advances. While small molecule-based treatment options will be highlighted because they are critical for diseases with a high population burden, the agenda will also cover promising gene therapy, oligonucleotide, and targeted protein degradation (TPD) approaches and of course biologics, especially in the context of recent drug approvals for antibody-based Alzheimer's Disease (AD) therapies. Join us to also discuss clinical development challenges in the neuro-field.

Who should attend: Academic or BioPharma Neuroscientists or Scientists, Researchers, Directors or Vice Presidents of Research, CSOs in fields, departments or companies related to: CNS Drug Discovery, Discovery Biology, Translational Medicine.

Coverage will include, but is not limited to:

  • Neuroinflammation targets such as: LRRK2, NLRP3, mitochondrial function
  • Targeting protein misfolding and aggregation: progranulin, TREM, lysosomal function and more
  • Tau-and amyloid targeted approaches for AD
  • Clinical trial space in AD and changes in drug approval process
  • Non-AD imaging agents (e.g., synuclein tracer)
  • Emerging modalities for treating CNS diseases: TPD, antisense RNA and gene therapy

The deadline for priority consideration is March 17, 2023.

All proposals are subject to review by session chairpersons and/or the Scientific Advisory Committee to ensure the overall quality of the conference program. Additionally, as per Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s policy, a select number of vendors and consultants who provide products and services will be offered opportunities for podium presentation slots based on a variety of Corporate Sponsorships.
